Eye On The Storm: Up To 3 Inches Of Snowfall, Hazardous Travel Expected

We may be ready to spring ahead for the start of Daylight Saving Time, but Old Man Winter is being a bit stubborn.

That's because when clocks move ahead one hour on Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m., we'll be in the midst of a new winter storm.

Saturday, March 9 will be sunny with a high around 40 and wind-chill values between 20 and 30.

Then comes the storm system.

Snowfall will arrive around 3 a.m. and continue through 6 a.m. Sunday before changing to sleet and freezing rain on Sunday morning.

The wintry precipitation will make for hazardous driving and walking overnight Saturday into Sunday, especially across northern and high terrain areas. Expect limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Between 1 to 3 inches of snowfall is expected before the changeover to rain during the day Sunday.

In addition, southeasterly winds will strengthen late Saturday night into Sunday morning with wind gusts between 46 and 57 mph.

Precipitation will wrap up around noontime Sunday on a cloudy day in which the high temperature will be in the low 40s.

Monday, March 11 will be mostly sunny with a high again in the low 40s.
